Real Life in the way

Do you ever have those days, weeks, months where real life and all it’s responsibilities get in the way of what you really want to do? That’s the kind of summer I’ve been having. Hubby and I have both been working 60+ hours a week, for the last [I’ve lost count] weeks. It makes it difficult to make time to sew, to say the least.

But! I have managed to sneak little bits here and there in.

A few heart blocks for Orlando.

A curtain for my new kitchen.

A few blocks here and there on my Icy Waters quilt (started in a class with Amy Garro herself!).

I am desperately hoping that when fall arrives, everything will slow down a little, so I can enjoy all my favorite bits (pumpkin bread! gingersnaps! hot cocoa!)

  1. I loved reading this post and the previous one (catching up). Love the things you’re working on. Looking forward to seeing what you choose as a sewing room and how you organize it. Best for your new home. Also, of course, I love hearing about the adventures of Woody. What a beautiful boy he is.

  2. Your creativity is like you, unique, and extraordinary! Loved peeking in on your sewing projects. Sewing feeds the soul. …so happy Woody & hubby are monitoring your projects, and always encouraging you. Work can b a challenge, but knowing how to sew & take power naps does help.

  3. I enjoy your posts. I too find it difficult some weeks to get anything done, and others just packed with studio fun. Summer always seems to be just too busy for all of us.

I'd love it if you would leave your thoughts!
